One of the biggest embarrassments for US is that some folks are hungry. I will not lower myself to argue the social implications that cause such an embarrassment, but I will help lead you to a simple solution. Stamp Out Hunger. This solution is uniquely simple, take out the cans and non-perishable goods in your pantry that you have not used in two months time, put them in a bag and set them by your mail box Saturday May 8th. The US Postal Service will pick up your bag and deliver it to local food banks. You will be cleaning out that over-stuffed pantry and you will be helping someone that truly is in need. Thank you!
I have been using Chrome over Firefox for about a year now simply because it is faster. But, evidently my opinion isn’t good enough for Google. They had to do some ‘real’ tests to prove that Chrome is faster. Hence the video below;
My sister, Jeanie Hoppal, is one heck of an artist. One of her many talents is painting. She even teaches the Bob Ross style of painting. You might know of Bob Ross via his long time running show on PBS, you know, he was that curly headed dude that was always saying “and now let’s make a happy tree…” Unfortunately, Bob passed on before the home computer really caught on. But if he were still alive, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ‘painted’ using the PC and using GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program). GIMP is free, and so are the many tutorials.
I might have to try to emulate the results in the above tutorial. But I do not expect similar results for unlike my sister, I have no talent.
A success story. The greater Prairie Chicken resides only in one county here in Colorado and in 1973 was placed on the endangered spices list. But in 1998 they were delisted to a special concern/non-game status.
The male chickens dance and make a ‘booming’ sound while puffing out their air sacs to court the fairer sex. This ritual lasts from about 5:30 am to around 9am every day, no holidays or weekends off. Talk about dedication, ladies ![]()
The Colorado Department of Wildlife has a great video on the mating dance, very informative.
