… and here is the proverbial 2nd flower shot of the year. Every year it happens, Spring has to toy with us. She, Spring that is (yes Spring is a she), will give us a week or so of 50’s and even 60 degree days, but just as soon as you want to shout out to the world how good life is, she pounces on that feeling of euphoria ;-)

Winter Wheat Harvest

Alan Welp in Combine

The ‘09 winter wheat harvest is about half way done, according to some of Alan Welp’s crew. With the better then normal moisture through out the year, and during the harvest itself, yields have been good so far. Hopefully the local area farmers will be able to get all their wheat in before the weather turns violent which has happened north and west of Eckley where several fields have been stripped by hail and wind.

Amber Grain(s)

We have had an exceptional Spring for Winter Wheat if the weather will cooperate now to let the farmers into the fields before hail starts to rain dwn.

Temporary weather link.

Where did it go?

Last nights partial rainbow. 30 minutes later, the southern portion of the rainbow appeared as the northern one disappeared.

No joke?

It rained most of the night, sometimes rather hard. But over 5″ of rain?
