The Birds are dancing
A success story. The greater Prairie Chicken resides only in one county here in Colorado and in 1973 was placed on the endangered spices list. But in 1998 they were delisted to a special concern/non-game status.
The male chickens dance and make a ‘booming’ sound while puffing out their air sacs to court the fairer sex. This ritual lasts from about 5:30 am to around 9am every day, no holidays or weekends off. Talk about dedication, ladies ![]()
The Colorado Department of Wildlife has a great video on the mating dance, very informative.

Self Portrait
I have heard a statement that most photographers would rather have darts thrown at them then have their picture taken. I am some what that way, I mean that I wouldn’t want sharp darts thrown at me
Also I wanted to mention a great website called D-Town. It is DSLR photography video site where Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski show some great tricks and tips.

Spring has Sprung
… and here is the proverbial 2nd flower shot of the year. Every year it happens, Spring has to toy with us. She, Spring that is (yes Spring is a she), will give us a week or so of 50’s and even 60 degree days, but just as soon as you want to shout out to the world how good life is, she pounces on that feeling of euphoria

The Alien
They say that you can see what you want to see in a cloud formation. But I gotta admit that does not look like Kathy Ireland.
