A breath of fresh air …

Filed under: Tech, news, politics — Administrator @ 7:12 am

A breath of fresh air ... Don’t know if you folks remember the national news back when the Democrats were getting together for the national convention (DNC) in Denver? There was some flaq over how the Democrats were promoting ‘green credits’ and one of the examples they were promoting was a wind turbine that didn’t ever work? Supposedly the turbine was fixed by the actual DNC convention time.
Well, this is that turbine, getting fixed. Not again, for it has never produced its intended amount of electricity. Come to find out, the generator that hooks directly to those huge propeler wings was the wrong one. They kept on trying nickel and dime repairs until all hope ran out and finally deemed just to replace it with the right generator.
This ‘repair’ has been going on for over a year!
(btw, the picture on the news link above is mine too) ;-)

Winter Wheat Harvest

Filed under: Photography, news, weather — Administrator @ 11:31 am

Alan Welp in Combine

The ‘09 winter wheat harvest is about half way done, according to some of Alan Welp’s crew. With the better then normal moisture through out the year, and during the harvest itself, yields have been good so far. Hopefully the local area farmers will be able to get all their wheat in before the weather turns violent which has happened north and west of Eckley where several fields have been stripped by hail and wind.

Let the Harvest begin …

Amber Grain(s)

We have had an exceptional Spring for Winter Wheat if the weather will cooperate now to let the farmers into the fields before hail starts to rain dwn.
