Awesome news update, after two long weeks, they took Sis out of the critical care unit! They removed the Brain Drain (I love that term) which allowed her to stand up and walk (3 steps) for the first time. She even ate some solid food. Sis still has moments of confusion, but hey, don’t we all? Well, maybe not you, but I do

My Sis is still in the hospital recovering from her brain surgery. It will be awhile until we find out if there was any damage from the aneurysm that hemorrhaged. I really appreciate any prayers on her behalf.

Longhopes Donkey Shelter
There is a place on the Eastern plains of Colorado an hour from Denver that will make you feel better. No, it is not a spa that will pamper your body. No, it is not a place that will fill your stomach and feed your body. And no, it is not a soul cleansing temple that will make your spirit soar. No, this place is a place of hope. A place for dreams. And a place that loves. Longhopes Donkey Shelter is as the name implies a facility that gives life to donkeys.
Back in ‘99, Kathy Dean and husband Alan Miller bought 20 acres (now 40 acres) out near Bennett, CO. and “took in” in Rocky, a 42 year old donkey and a dream was hatched. Longhopes Donkey Shelter. Donkeys are taken in when an owner can no longer take care of them, or rescued from neglectful ranches, or they are purchased from slaughter houses. So far they have rescued and found homes for over 500 animals while providing a home and rehabilitation there for 40-50 donkeys at a single time on their 40 acres.
